Weland Restoration

The restoration of the Shotover Country wetland is a community project led by children from Shotover Primary School and Little Rockets Educare, with support from the Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and a committee of volunteers. This decades-long project will engage local children and families in caring for and understanding their natural environment, give our children a leadership role in the community and provide for authentic, cross-curriculum learning opportunities. The project’s first planting day was on 13 April 2016.
