Shotover Country has pledged its support to Shotover Primary School, with $20,000 per annum for the next five years.
Establishment Board of Trustees Chairperson Sally Mingaye-Hall, speaking on behalf of the board, said it was a phenomenal gesture and much-needed boost to the school operational budget.
“Schools always need more and it often takes a while for a new school to fundraise for all sorts of things,” said Mrs Mingaye-Hall.
“Sharyn and Grant Stalker’s support has been phenomenal and this commitment will help establish an incredible learning environment as it is set up.
Mrs Mingaye-Hall said Shotover Primary School would initially invest in the new staff being recruited before opening day, as well as learning technology and equipment for students.
“We will evaluate early next year where we can invest the next instalment, but it’s likely to be in an environment programme and outdoor play equipment,” she said.
